erjdriver Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 I'm trying to create a mission where i take off meet up with enemy aircraft. But the problem is that the enemy aircraft seems to be bypassing me and landing at the airport I took off from. What do I need to do to engage?
cromhunt Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 Blue versus red or red versus blue:) you need to choose your side and a different side to your enemy. 1
erjdriver Posted March 22, 2016 Author Posted March 22, 2016 Blue versus red or red versus blue:) you need to choose your side and a different side to your enemy. i just chose different countries - that doesn't do it. How do i choose the color.
erjdriver Posted March 22, 2016 Author Posted March 22, 2016 I was playing the Dora. I set one side to Germany and the other US - who knew they were allies. I changed US to Belarus and now all good - they're enemies. DCS you so funny!
Yurgon Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 I'd have thought the coloring of the aircraft and their waypoints were a dead giveaway regarding their allegiance. ;) Anyway, I guess the default coalition that countries belong to reflects the modern world, and is not changed based on aircraft epoch. If you want to set specific countries to a specific coalition (or take them out of the mission entirely), hit the "New mission" menu item in the ME, that'll show a country <-> coalition screen in which you could set Germany and US as opposing forces. Note that in order to change countries at a later stage, you'd have to open the mission archive and edit a file in it with a text editor like Notepad++, but this is a bit complex and error prone and only really makes sense if you've already invested a lot of prior work in the mission.
