AstroEma Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 (edited) So, I am playing the Overwatch mission and there is some infantry on the ground which needs CBU87 to be killed. Dropping the bombs with the standard settings -hof 1800- disintegrates the bomb in the air and I don't see any droplets ejected. I tried changing the hof to 3000 and the same thing happens: bombs drops and the explodes in the air. Height of terrain is 1700. What am I doing wrong? Thanks! E. Aginor Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 The HOF is a bit weird, the footprints differ from those in real life. There are several good video tutorials on those CBUs, IIRC this is one of the good ones: [ame] [/ame] DCSW weapons cheat sheet speed cheat sheet
Zabuzard Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 Try the settings from the video. At that moment I also used them, those bombs got very accurate! Its the C-setting for HOF.
Xavven Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 The CBU-87 uses a linear charge to blow open the outer casing above the ground, releasing 200 submunitions (not all of them are modeled in DCS though). I'm guessing you're watching the CBU-87 with the F6 view. The F6 view doesn't follow any of the bomblets to the ground, so you only see the explosion in the air. Try watching the fireworks from your TGP instead, or just look out the cockpit window.
AstroEma Posted March 25, 2016 Author Posted March 25, 2016 Thanks Guys, it worked perfectly now. The problem was a combination of hof and rpm settings! Kaby Lake @ 4.6Ghz - Gigabyte Z170-D3H - 16Gb DDR4 - Gigabyte GTX 1080 G1 OC - Samsung EVO 250Gb SSD - Seagate 1 Tb HDD - HTC Vive - Rift CV1
