Remarkymarkable Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 Hi, I am using the Thrustmaster HOTAS in DCS A10C and the trim switch doesn't do anything in the SIM. Is this normal or did I get a bad stick? Thanks
Braeden108 Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 It's a fine stick Nah it's a good stick I have one, just the throttle. But your problem is that you have force feedback enabled in the sim settings. I used to have this issue, all you need to do is go into your settings and disable it. Light the tires kick the fires! blaueente Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 The trim Head is assigned to the Camera movement as standard. Its as simple as to map it correctly ;)
cichlidfan Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 IIRC, the default setup for the Warthog trim hat is to control the view and control trim when the CTRL key is pressed at the same time. I could be wrong about the modifier key since it has been a long time since I looked at that setup. If you are using TIR then you just need to change the setup for the hat switch. bigian Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 Default As others have said You need to press and hold ctrl while adjusting the trim - default is for the joystick hat to operate as a POV control but by pressing ctrl it adjusts trim. You need to search the forum or google that sort of questions or someone will flame you or shout RTFM I know I've been there Cheers Ian

bigian Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 No apologies necessary It's an incredible sim, so much more realistic than FSX but a study sim for sure, I've been flying about on my own for many years with no idea how to use team speak or join a server and fly with someone else. I've even manged to get my real world pilot license during that time ! So I'm a long term newbie I suppose, that's probably worse than a newbie in the eyes of people on here!

Thanks bigian and congrats on the pilots license. My goal as a newbie is to fly in an on-line mission but, at the rate I'm going, there won't be any servers left running when I have the skills to do it!
