I have a problem with my CH Pro Pedals:

I cant calibrate them using the Windows gamecontroller tool because it detects the toe brakes as X- and Y-Input, meaning they are a "Joystick-Axis" with minimal, maximal and middle value and not a "Slider-Axis" with just minimum and maximum like the Z-Axis of my throttle (In the Calibration Tool). This means that to get a properly calibrated Axis with a linear response I would have to manually move both toe brakes to the middle position and because they snap back to the minimum value as they should its very difficult to even hit the middle looking at the raw values (which is obviously senseless when trying to calibrate).

Is there any way to change this behaviour without creating a virtual gamecontroller with the CH Controls Manager (I wouldnt like that because: 1. It somehow keeps crashing/cant be launched; 2. The Pro Pedals are the only CH device I use)?

Thank you in advance.

PS: I use Windows 10 Home (Fault!!!)

The CH Control Manager is needed in order to calibrate the devices but it isn't necessary to combine them into a single device. You can use them as a separate device. Perhaps the CH Forum or their support can help with the crashing.

I had the same issue and spoke to tech support at CH. You can calibrate the pedals in the MS game controller. You must press/release the pedals so that the icon in the box forms a perfect square. However, when I did that and went into the game, I didn't like the calibration so I went back to the CH manager. I too have had the crashes when I reboot so I always uninstall the CH manager, reboot and then reinstall and calibrate with the Ch manager. I hope this helps you as there presently does not appear to be other choices for pedals that are reasonably priced.

I have CH gear and Pro Pedals, my setup runs great. Tons of stuff, just wait and let the pages load.

All my DCS aircraft profiles are setup using this and retained there. The file stash resides to "My Documents" in my Windows 7 under the name "CH Control Manager" , then "Maps" . My version is the older 4.52

If I can figure this stuff out to get setup properly, anybody can do it.

Thank you for helping!

Well I was able to get it running after some restarts + run as admininistrator + disabling the running TM Target Scripts + having luck as it sometimes just crashes. Should have stayed with Win 7, but nevermind, I was able to calibrate it and remove the center calibration from X- and Y- Axis.

One last question, just to be sure : I am right with the assumption that I dont need the Control Manger running to use this calibration?

Otherwise my problems just started....

I bring up my CH Control Manager to load my profile for the game, then minimize it.

I am somewhat conservative, so far, I have never even tried overclocking, yet, I run my stuff usually vanilla version.

I use the Control Manager version 4.52 . I setup all my aircraft using it and usually find a profile CH Hangar recommends ; I don't think this version is still available, but the newer version.

I am not taking the forced Windows 10 just yet, think it is still a work in progress. My Win 7 runs good enough for me.

I follow http://www.AskWoody.com/ suggestions as to the monthly Windows Update(s)

My latest March '16 updates, he recommended this message: http://www.askwoody.com/2016/yes-im-recommending-that-you-get-updated/

I use this utility : http://blog.ultimateoutsider.com/2015/08/using-gwx-stopper-to-permanently-remove.html

Woody writes basically Dummy books, somewhat simplified compared to "Win 7 Inside / Out" by Ed Bott . Woody is always knocking Microsoft.

When I buy a new system I get the help books, too.

Most of the guys on this particular forum here (PC Hardware and Related Software) are light years ahead of me and 40 or more years younger (LOL!) .

Take care

Thank you for your advice, but coming back to my question: Do I need to leave CH Control Manager running for the calibration to be applied or can I calibrate it once and then dont need the program running to use the calibration?

Once you have calibrated with CHCM you don't need to launch it every time you game. You can just leave it off.
