Pilots.

Im looking to conduct training within my squadron as we develop our CAS, FAC A and overall hog capabilities.

My question is when artillery is firing at a point/area target does a round actually fly through the air? If it does I assume it could hit the aircraft and including arty gun target line would be warranted in the simulation.

We are aware of the methods of deconfliction. Just want to know if rounds are really in the air or not.

Either way we plan on practicing artillery gun to target line as adding a complicating factor to our A-10 pilot leads.

For your consideration.

Thanks.

thanks KIMI.

Im out of town and away from my kit at the moment.

I have discovered rounds through tacview do fly through time and space so the next will have to he that poor huey either at the gun position or the tgt.

Thanks

All,

Confirmed. After perfect placement of a KA-50 in the path of a artillery piece the KA-50 was in fact hit by field artillery.

We will continue with our training of adding gun target lines with our CAS training.

Thanks guys.
