'Binocular' view

I was reading the A-10's over Kosovo and they talk a lot of the time of searching for targets with binoculars.

 

I think a binocular zoom view would be an excellent feature. Is there such a mod?

I'm not aware of any mods, but I regularly use the zoom function. It's a little easier to handle than actual binoculars, but ever since I read A-10's Over Kosovo it doesn't feel like cheating any longer. ;)

Yeah, when I use the "super" zoom it looks like I am 'cheating', so, having a binoculars would be interesting. Even tho we have the TGP! To be honest, I wish I had the Suite 8, with HMCS! haha that would be nice!

Back on topic, the TGP is totally awesome. Personally, though, I tend to spend way too much time heads down and lose SA. I really need to force myself to look out the window every now and then just so I know where I actually am and what the situation on the ground looks like.

@Yurgon, I am in total agreement with you. I too spend too much time focused on using TGP and not using my eyes. I watch some of the other player's YouTube channels (like Bunyap) and kick myself for not training myself to recognize targets from the cockpit... I do agree that super zoom is not cheating since we don't have true binoculars.

Doine some training with the A-10C minus the TGP is always great practice.

 

On some of those missions that replicate COIN operations a great method is keeping the TGP on target while keeping the MK1 eye ball on the friendly location be it static or moving and also observe enemy ground fire.
