Hotas transmit button and "Amplis" selector question.

I have a little question about the communications.

In the throttle there are a button for transmit via V/UHF (main) and another for the UHF (AUX), ok... but in the left console there is an "Amplis selector 1/2" that in the Razbam manual is marked as a "COMM selector". The Hotas buttons take priority over the "Amplis"? Have you to select via the "Amplis" to use (hear and talk) the V/UHF or the UHF?

I´ve searched across the posts but I haven´t found anything that solves this question.

Sorry for my English and thanks in advance.

Regards.

Hello

AFAIK: no relation between the ampli(fiers) and the radios themselves.

My understanding is that the aircraft is equipped with 2 amplifiers, one main (1) and one spare (2).

You are able to hear both radios (and other sounds such as alarms, radionav...) at the same time and all the time, on ampli 1.

I don't know if ampli 2 (spare) comes with limitations (e.g. "only this and that device").

Thanks Azrayen.

This is exactly what I think, a "spare ampli" not related with the Radios themselves. Maybe as you say "with limitations".

in the REAL MIRAGE 2000C, there is 2 types of red throttle handle, depending of the version and the radio system, there is a Rocker switch on the throttle to choose the radio you want to talk, and a PTT switch (don't know if it's in the rocker switch).

It's not about real/unreal, Exo7, it's about RDM/RDI.

The throttle we currently have in DCS is the old one (for RDMs).

The throttle in your pic is the RDI one (from a rear seat, BTW). Its base is also wider than the old one (not visible on your "side" pic).

Razbam is aware of that, re-modelling the throttle is already part of the to-do list for some time (but not high priority item I guess, because less impact than other features).

And yes, the rocker is dual feature i.e. radio-select + PTT (and as such it is spring loaded to return to central position).

Rocker+PTT, I suspect something like this.

With the redone of the throttle in the medium-long term maybe Razbam could make the buttons and rockers of the new throttle clicables like in the L-39, Huey, Mi-8, MiG-21, Sabre and others.

Thanks again.

Correct, i approuve.

I don't know why "REAL" come here, maybe my mind think about anything else while typing... ;)

Somebody knows how speak in UHF?

I try to contact with the tanker for refueling but don't answer me.

If I change the frecuency in the VHF panel to 251MHz then I can talk with they.

you have to assign a key to "AUX RADIO SELECT"

and select aux radio BEFORE to open the radio menu.

you will see "UHF" on top of the radio menu.

This is quite normal that you can join the tanker on the main radio with 251.00 selected.

the main radio is not just a VHF radio, it's a UHF and VHF radio (U/VHF), depending of the selected frequency..

Unrelated question looking at the throttle in the photo posted above: There's a white line visible on the throttle itself, and another white like on the side panel. When lining up the throttle with the white line, what setting do we have? Is that 100% mil power or so? Thanks.

Correct, it's the "buster" mark. you're 100% MIL power or "full dry" (no PC), after this line you're in PC.
