Pilot views

I am very new with DCS. I have the Huey and some how messed up my pilot view. It looks like I'm in the back seat. Can someone tell me the right buttons to use? I know where to bring up the page where you can modify the keyboard and stick, I just don't know the correct combination of keys. I'm using a Logitech G510 Keyboard and a Saitek X52 Throttle and stick. Thanks

Go to C:\Users\YOU OWN USER\Saved Games\DCS\Config\View and delete SnapViews.lua . This will restore to default your views.

 

After that look in your options... controls at the views section what are your controls to set new SnapViews and use them wisely.

 

In case of second fail repeat first step.

After I went to \Config\ , I opened Options. Iua (with Word Pad ) I didn't see Snapview.Iua listed.

:megalol: you need to read the above instruction carefully. If you want to open and alter LUA files use "Notepad++ " it's a free download, just search Google for that. Anyway you don't open the options.lua file, you need to open the "VIEW" folder just above it, The Snapview.lua file is there. As said, just delete it, restart the game and the game will install a new one with the original settings.

The key presses that control your views are in the main game in Options , that's where you set up your controls. Happy flying.

Under saved games is DCSopenalpha.Under that is Config. When I click on Config I get input. When I click on input I get; UH-1H , UH-1H Easy , UH-1H Gunner. I seem to be lost after I click on Config. I have notepad and have seen a few lines pertaining to DCS, but was afraid to mess with it.

If the folder isn't there, it means you haven't actually changed your views. I think what you are referring to is that the default view is zoomed out quite a bit. I don't know where to permanently configure it (somebody else will be able to help), but if all you need is zooming in, you want to open the "adjust controls" bit for the "UH-1 Sim", and then scroll all the way down to the list and assign keys to "Zoom in slow" and "Zoom out slow". That's how I have set it up anyway, as I prefer to zoom with a key rather than physically moving my head forward all the time ;)
