[RESOLVED]Greyed out menu options

Hi,

 

I have just updated (painfully) and now all of my menu options are greyed out except for logbook, Encyclopedia and Exit.

The version I have updated to is 1.5.3.52018, is this the latest release version? really confusing!!! :mad:

 

Any help much appreciated. Thanks

Latest stable version is 1.5.3.52018.61

 

Current openbeta is 1.5.3.52018.61

 

Current openalpha is 2.0.2.52369.64

 

 

Try renaming your DCS folder in saved games ( keep it as a backup for now )

 

C:\Users\yourname\Saved Games\DCS

 

restart DCS ( it will create a fresh folder ) and redo your options.

had already tried that, just did it again incase but still no joy.

 

Not sure if this is normal but I get a message pop up on the menu screen that says "Seems that you do not have any theatres installed. please, check available on our store"

 

I have also tried using the DCS Updater utility by Skate Zilla to update modules and repair but that hasn't helped either.

are you trying to use the open alpha, if so you need to purchase the NTTR terrain?

nope I have only run the updater for the latest release version.

are you running any unofficial mods?

 

If so remove them, and do a repair.

 

If not could you take a screenshot of the menu option so we can take a look

Been a while and I may be incorrect but I thought this may happen if you aren't actually logged into the master server, Check in the top middle of your main dcsw screen to see if your logged in and your username is showing. If it looks ok, logoff with the small icon next to your username and re logon to see it actually does it.

Yep I have checked that I am logged in, I have logged in and out a few times but it hasn't helped.

 

if it is easier Im happy to just do a clean install unless you want to look into it further for your own info then im also happy to keep trying things.

looks like at some point you tried to install the Nevada terrain in 1.5.3 ?

yeah in skate zillas update utility I clicked the Nevada terrain thinking that maybe I had no terrain installed at all (due the message about no theatres being installed) and thought that the Nevada icon was an icon for terrain in general. That was the last thing I had tried after everything else.

where is the repair exe?

 

I have run repair from the update utility but not from the original DCS repair file itself.

Ok Nevada will only work with open alpha 2.0.2

 

but I dont know why it has effected your normal install even if it was asked to install.

 

can you look at your terrains folder and let me know if you see this

go to your windows start menu/ programs/ eagle dynamics/ dcs/ repair

OK, have ran repair no luck.

Yes I have 2 folders, Caucasus and CaucasusBase

Ok try deleting Caucasus and then run a repair.

 

Leave CaucasusBase alone.

 

At the worst it will mean a bit of a download again.
