AstroEma Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 Hi all, Is there any way to create a JSGME mod that allows for modified lua files to not being patched - every time new patches come out? Example: I have to manually modify the comm menu and radio messages position to 3840 pixel because I use 3 monitors as a single monitor via Nvidia Surround. Every time a new DCS patch comes out, the lua file get reverted to default. Any way of bringing them in JSGME and forget about them? :smartass: Thanks! E. SkateZilla Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 You're supposed to remove Mods before Running the patches anyway. Move Modded LUA or Rename it, Run Updater, Put Modded LUA Back. Shahdoh Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 (edited) JSGME can indeed be used to do what you want. Will make it easier to remove those updates prior to patching too. Standard JSGME folder structure in DCS: ..\DCS World\_Mods The first subfolder in _Mods creates the name for that mod that you choose to activate/deactivate ..\DCS World\_mods\Airshow Cones (seen in JSGME as "Airshow Cones") The folder structure beyond that MUST match the DCS World folder structure for the files being used. ..\DCS World\_mods\Airshow Cones\mod\tech\Airshow Cones (all required files for this mod reside here) Doesn't matter if there is 1 or more more folders being modded, just make sure they are all in your custom folder (in the above example: "..\_mods\Airshow Cones") I have even done this for the saved games area. Just need to have a new JSGME shortcut that sets that folder as the working directory. On another note, you may be able to setup your mod in the saved games area. Looks like this is the future for DCS mods anyways. Just have not tried it yet myself. Edited April 26, 2016 by Shahdoh
