Fred00 Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Do I set the sight to "Bomb" or "Gun" for manual bombing? The manual says "Gun" but I've seen "Bomb" used in Youtube tutorials. "Bomb" mode gives a fixed pipper that moves up and down on the HUD when rotating the dive angle dial. "Gun" mode gives a moving reticle and it seems hard to use when bombing...
Art-J Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 (edited) "Gun", as the pipper depression angle (in mils), the one You set on MPC box, is measured from reference line running through the centre of the gunsight, i.e. - the gun position. And it DOES move only up and down with the rotary switch if other all other switches are set correctly. Make sure you don't forget about flipping the "normal-bomb" switch on the box! The brand spankin' new tutorial mission explains three bombing methods very nicely (apart from the LABS one), I strongly recommend it. Fred00 Posted May 3, 2016 Author Posted May 3, 2016 Thanks for the reply. I must say that it is painfully hard to get the bombs to drop where you want. This module is much more difficult than the A-10C, but much more rewarding when you get everything right. :)
last1976 Posted March 5, 2017 Posted March 5, 2017 I have the same findings. Manual Pip bombing works on bomb mode not on gun mode. In gun mode it is just impossible to get the piper constantly on target. i7-6700K / Msi Z170 Board / Kingston 32GB DDR4 / Msi GeForce GTX 980 4G / BQ STRAIGHT POWER 10 CM 700W / Fractal Define R5 Black / Alpenföhn "Brocken 2" / Samsung m2 980 Pro 1TB/ WD Blue 2TB / Windows 10 Pro
