Chic Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 Anybody having any success with snap views in the Gazelle? Cant get them to save after leaving game. In fact, when I do so, I lose saved snap views in my other modules as well. Maybe it's DCS? xxJohnxx Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 I tried to add custom snap views as well. Interestingly enough the view direction would be stored, however it would not remember the position of the camera. Didn't try if it had affected the other modules. DieHard Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 (edited) Me too, last few nights, week or so, currently this concerns for me Su-27 in FC3. I never took the time to learn the Su-27, doing the tutorials lately. Made custom views of HDD (MFD), HSI, right side radar indicator with designated G-keys of my Logitech keyboard. Custom snap views have always worked OK in the past. My older snap views concerning Ka-50, Warthog, etc. are fine, but I have not reset them. I am using the latest upgrade in 1.5.3 Searching the forums for a fix, saw this entry. Nice to know it is not just me. Wonder what changed? Has this been reported as a possible bug? Chic Posted May 17, 2016 Author Posted May 17, 2016 I am now able to save snap views after reboot in the gazelle. Tried many fixes. I think what finally worked for me was setting up snap views in the 1.5 BETA version. I then copied the Snap.lua file from Saved Games to the 2.0 ALPHA version. Making the snap views STICK with the toggle camera input works for me in the Huey but not MI8 or Gazelle. My workaround is to use Voice Attack to hold the Number pad key pressed. Diplocaulus Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 (edited) I can't get snap views to work for the Gazelle in versions 1.5.3 beta nor 2.0.2 beta. What happens for me is when I create a snap view, that snap view then (somehow) automatically becomes the default view. Can't switch it back, can't figure it out. I tried deleting the snap views from SnapView.lua and starting fresh, but no joy. Here's a snippet from SnapView.lua where I assigned a snap view to Num4 (which has now become my default view): SnapViews["SA342M"] = { [1] = {-- player slot 1 [1] = {--LWin + Num0 : Snap View 0 viewAngle = 65.000000,--FOV hAngle = 0.000000, vAngle = -30.000000, x_trans = 0.000000, y_trans = 0.000000, z_trans = 0.000000, rollAngle = 0.000000, }, [2] = {--LWin + Num1 : Snap View 1 viewAngle = 84.000000,--FOV hAngle = 105.000000, vAngle = -8.500000, x_trans = 0.000000, y_trans = 0.000000, z_trans = 0.000000, rollAngle = 0.000000, }, [3] = {--LWin + Num2 : Snap View 2 viewAngle = 65.000000,--FOV hAngle = 0.000000, vAngle = -45.000000, x_trans = 0.000000, y_trans = 0.000000, z_trans = 0.000000, rollAngle = 0.000000, }, [4] = {--LWin + Num3 : Snap View 3 viewAngle = 84.000000,--FOV hAngle = -135.000000, vAngle = -8.500000, x_trans = 0.000000, y_trans = 0.000000, z_trans = 0.000000, rollAngle = 0.000000, }, [5] = {--LWin + Num4 : Snap View 4 viewAngle = 84.000000,--FOV hAngle = 90.000000, vAngle = -8.500000, x_trans = 0.000000, y_trans = 0.000000, z_trans = 0.000000, rollAngle = 0.000000, }, [6] = {--LWin + Num5 : Snap View 5 viewAngle = 42.512844,--FOV hAngle = 0.000000, vAngle = -4.478010, x_trans = 0.154018, y_trans = 0.000000, z_trans = 0.000000, rollAngle = 0.000000, }, [7] = {--LWin + Num6 : Snap View 6 viewAngle = 84.000000,--FOV hAngle = -90.000000, vAngle = -8.500000, x_trans = 0.000000, y_trans = 0.000000, z_trans = 0.000000, rollAngle = 0.000000, }, [8] = {--LWin + Num7 : Snap View 7 viewAngle = 84.000000,--FOV hAngle = 58.000000, vAngle = 23.000000, x_trans = 0.000000, y_trans = 0.000000, z_trans = 0.000000, rollAngle = 0.000000, }, [9] = {--LWin + Num8 : Snap View 8 viewAngle = 84.000000,--FOV hAngle = 0.000000, vAngle = 35.000000, x_trans = 0.000000, y_trans = 0.000000, z_trans = 0.000000, rollAngle = 0.000000, }, [10] = {--LWin + Num9 : Snap View 9 viewAngle = 84.000000,--FOV hAngle = -38.000000, vAngle = 25.000000, x_trans = 0.000000, y_trans = 0.000000, z_trans = 0.000000, rollAngle = 0.000000, }, [11] = {--look at left mirror viewAngle = 84.000000,--FOV hAngle = 45.000000, vAngle = -8.500000, x_trans = 0.000000, y_trans = 0.000000, z_trans = 0.000000, rollAngle = 0.000000, }, [12] = {--look at right mirror viewAngle = 84.000000,--FOV hAngle = -45.000000, vAngle = -8.500000, x_trans = 0.000000, y_trans = 0.000000, z_trans = 0.000000, rollAngle = 0.000000, }, [13] = {--default view viewAngle = 74.625000,--FOV hAngle = 1.223145, vAngle = -25.390137, x_trans = 0.095000, y_trans = -0.136902, z_trans = -0.145543, rollAngle = 0.000000, }, }, Which leads to a related question: What's the difference between View.lua and SnapViews.lua? SnowTiger Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 Co-Pilot / Weapons Officer Snap View SAVE Broken Since at least the last update, I have not been able to Save my Default View for the Gazelle Co-Pilot. It appears that both Pilot's default view is linked because if I change one it affects the other and visa versa. I have tried deleting my default/snap view files in DCS in order to recreate my custom views, but this has not done anything to help. I believe this is only in the Gazelle but the only other MOD I have double-checked is the Huey Pilot/Co-Pilot default view save. It seems to be working properly (ie. independent of each other). Can anyone else confirm this issue ? Can someone at Polychop please take a look into this ? I can upload/attach any requested files. Thanks in Advance. PS> The Gazelle is still perfectly flyable as is but it would be nice to have a custom default view for the co-pilot (as I did have it but cannot now change it ... at least not permanently).
