OldE24 Posted May 9, 2016 Posted May 9, 2016 (edited) so i am on my laptop "STEAM" right now traveling and my desktop at home has standalone and some other modules i wanted to go in blueflag and just GCI so i loaded it up and it only asked for my combined arms CD key i had never installed. is this going to cause an issue with my standalone/ use cd a activation when i get home? just curious i'll find out on friday if it does. but curious. TL:DR if i just used my laptop "STEAM" and my desktop is standalone did i just burn an activation by logging in with steam? Edited May 9, 2016 by OldE24 8700k@4.7 32GB ram, 1080TI hybrid SC2
Ramsay Posted May 9, 2016 Posted May 9, 2016 (edited) You will use an activation, if you install DCS/modules on another PC, in this case your laptop. If a Steam or Standalone install should have no effect as Starforce is 'keyed' to hardware ID/changes. AFAIK if you decline to activate modules and stick to using Su-25T and TF-51D, you can use your DCS account in MP on other PC's without 'burning' precious activations i.e. by disabling any optional Steam 'DLC' modules.
