I have noticed this for a long time now and wondered if anybody has had the same problem. When doing the training mission and even my own created missions, I noticed the RPM and OIL Pressure always go close to or up to the red line. When running at 1100-1200 RPM I never even come close to 40-50 on the Oil pressure as the training missions states you should. Even when increasing the throttle, oil pressure remains around 20. When running at 1100-1200 RPM, I am way above the green zone. I will post a video later of my problem so maybe you gents can point me in the right direction.

Also, when completely running the red line, nothing ever happens to the P-51. It seems as if there is no consequences for running the engine into the ground past its limits. I would like to know if anybody else is experiencing this. Than you.

You can ignore my first post and erase this board. I just realized I was watching the manifold pressure gauge and not the oil pressure gauge. Very embarrassing to say. The manual did a wonderful job of putting me in my place and I recommend anybody read it before making a fool of themselves and asking a question like I did before reading first.

It can happen when the oil is very cold. In principal, there's no consequences to the engine of running too high oil pressure apart from bursting an oil line (which is pretty bad though) but i don't think this is modeled. You wouldn't even attempt to start the engine with the oil at such high viscosity. The oil being very viscous on the other hand can have dire effects on the engine, such as the oil film in the cylinder tearing which will rapidly lead to jammed pistons IRL.

Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two.

Huh? If you start on a cold day and push the throttle up with the oil pressure high the Merlin will die on you quickly. Also it might be the main cause of the 'no reason' engine stops, as the abused engine on the ground is acting up in the air.

But yeah. The OP already understood his issue comes from misidentification.
