Dear ED,

 

In multi-player, can you pls check if it is possible to sort by default the servers based on the PING return value, and not by the server name?

 

Right now, all these servers start with strange characters, to be "the first in the list". It starts to be a mess.

 

I think it makes more sense to display those servers first which have a good ping (= close to you).

 

please take this into consideration.

I have set my MP server sort to favorites. Now, every time I go to MP, the favorites are still sorted at the top. Is it not saving your selected sort? Works this way in both 1.5 and 2.0 for me. Current method, when working at least, is the preferred method as people will have different ideas on what they want to sort on.

I actually don't really care, it is fine how it is now for me. That is because it is really easy to sort the server list the way you want it and I don't always sort on the same things. Usually I sort the list on player count or otherwise ping. Sometimes even server name If I look for a specific server.

Yeah. The poll is about the default sort... It is a bit annoying to see all these server names with funny characters as they will sort first. (I am doing the same with my server). My server starts with a minus and obviously people click on those. I personally hardly search below the list.

You can organize the server list by clicking on the column headers

 

Yes, but you can do just one at a time.

I want to be able to both filter out the locked servers and sort it by ping and/or player count. Impossible now.

That is something I would like to see added:

- Being able to set a ping limit filter, like max 50, 75, 100, 150, 200, off

- Being able to filter servers without people in it

- Being able to filter servers that are password protected

Hi Shadoh, you're right. If the settings save the sort preference, that is okay. Only, it doesn't do this on my machine somehow. Don't know why. Every time i have to click back on "ping" to get the nearest servers. I am nothing with a server having a ping of 700 being the first in the list, right?

 

Just bare in mind, my query is on the default sort setting, so when you open multiplayer for the first time. Want to avoid a confusion here.

Yep, filters would be great addition! Baby steps I imagine.

Am tired of reporting bugs. I wonder how ed prioritizes bugs. Some bugs are in the system for months, clear showstoppers and they don't care, until it becomes a problem for them in their commercial mission development. I would like them to develop one multiplayer mission involving lua scripting with clients handling cargo. I guarantee you, some bugs immediately will get fixed that are in the system for months. I think it is a language problem or something.

 

 

 

If I would report this issue as a bug, it would be very low priority and probably will never get any attention from the dev team.

It is either player or ping at the moment, hehe.
