Proposal/Question: Use kickstarter to set a bounty for features/modules

Is this feasible?

For e.g., I would like to get the whole EGT issue with the UH-1H sorted out.

Or have the ability the change the aircraft weight dynamically via Lua, or have troops in the back visible when loaded .

Or accelerate the AH-1 development.

Or have AH-64 or UH-60 modules.

I'm willing to put some money down on that. And I am sure that other people might be as well, either for the above, or for their own pet wants/needs.

Has a business model been considered where we can help the developers help us, via kickstarter or gofundme or some other crowd-sourced plan?

We propose the ideas, relevant house developer(s) interested and motivated enough to do it tells us know how much it would cost and a timeline, and then if and when the funding goal gets met, the ball gets rolling?

I am sure there is a danger of things exploding out of control with millions of different ideas proposed, many utterly unrealistic and others utterly trivial. So some sort of moderation/oversight is needed. Maybe something along the lines of the GSoC where proposals get floated and developers pick it up if feasible/interested and ignore if it not?

From the user perspective, there might be some who do agree with paying developers to add features they consider are fundamental or bug fixes. Fair enough: just don't contribute money to the project, then?

So far all kickstarters related to DCS were a failure, either an instant one, or the project went into disarray later.

Hardware: VPForce Rhino, FSSB R3 Ultra, Virpil WarBRD, Hotas Warthog, Winwing F15EX, Slaw Rudder, GVL224 Trio Throttle, Thrustmaster MFDs, Saitek Trim wheel, Trackir 5, Quest Pro

That's a shame.

Maybe instead of extremely ambitious big megaprojects, something more restricted, i.e. microprojects, with tightly defined goals to enhance or fix existing projects, would have more of a chance. So, instead of entire modules or maps, just features from the wishlists.
