Hueyman Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 After the initial " Weapon update ", I would like the dynamic components like the main rotor and tail rotor got some love. Some oddities in their geometries, too tall and long rotorhead and so linkages and wrong animation of the swashplate. For the Fenestron, I noticed a flat button cap ( hub ) instead of a curved one, un-twisted blades and simple lack of rudder pitch animation. Well, I already hear people categorizing me as a pesty nitpicker, but don't forget DCS is the most hardcore and non-compromise combat sim ever made, and to keep it's very high standard, we have to be demanding, especially when the product is still in development. BronzeYardNo11 Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 Are you sure that the IRL pictures you overlayed are of the SA342M? I believe that the SA341, SA342L and other variants have different rotor configurations and airfoils. Of course that there are changes over the years, so I don't think every Gazelle is exactly the same since 1968... ༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ Give OH-6 ༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ

Of course that there are changes over the years, so I don't think every Gazelle is exactly the same since 1968... All variants got the very same rotorhead, since the first series airframes came out of Marignane. Only the main blades were swapped with newer and more efficient AS555 Fennec blades ( the DCS one got those blades ) I have this rotorhead in one of our classroom for technical study, and it is really well done on Polychop's Gazelle.. except a few parts with incorrect size that give that false impression of weakness dude to too long and thin parts. outlawal2 Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 Wow well done with that initial post.. Can't argue with any of it when presented like that! 1 "Pride is a poor substitute for intelligence." RAMBO
Hueyman Posted September 7, 2016 Author Posted September 7, 2016 Hi Polychop, Do you think you'll ever fix these in the next patches ? Cheers [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] CPL(A)IR ME/SEP/MEP/SET - CPL(H)
Focha Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 Yap, those are extremely thin rods. They have to support all the compression and extension from the actuators/swashplates and blade's aerodynamic forces. And yes, the main shaft as parts a bit long.
