Voodooflies Posted June 12, 2016 Posted June 12, 2016 For some mystery, every time I fire from now on, both missiles goes off the pylons, either it's 530D or Magic II. By the way, there's no circle around G or D anymore on the HUD. Am I missing something or is this a new bug ? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Zeus67 Posted June 12, 2016 Posted June 12, 2016 For some mystery, every time I fire from now on, both missiles goes off the pylons, either it's 530D or Magic II. By the way, there's no circle around G or D anymore on the HUD. Am I missing something or is this a new bug ? The trigger has been updated, but the update is only available to ED's beta testers. The open beta, open alpha and stable releases remain the same. The new function of the trigger for missiles is that now it remains active for as long as you keep it pressed. A delay timer runs and when it reaches 0 it fires a missile and resets for the next one. If you release the trigger the missile launch is aborted. But as I said, this version is only available to ED's beta testers. If you are a beta tester and have a bug to report then do so through appropriate channels. Do you mean that keeping the trigger down will always launch two missiles?
Voodooflies Posted June 12, 2016 Author Posted June 12, 2016 Do you mean that keeping the trigger down will always launch two missiles? In fact I just pressed it once for a second as usual and both missiles went off at the exact same time, I was on the 51th server. Then I went for a flight on the 104th, but couldn't reproduce this... I have no idea on what happened. This is weird. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Zeus67 Posted June 12, 2016 Posted June 12, 2016 (edited) Do you mean that keeping the trigger down will always launch two missiles? Yes in the next update, but not simultaneously. AAM launch now works as follows: 1. When you press the trigger, a timer is set depending on missile type and start to run down. 2. When the timer reaches 0 one missile is launched. 3. You must keep the trigger down until the missile launchs. If you don't the launch will be aborted. 4. To launch another missile you must release the trigger and press it again. 5. 530Ds have a special multiple launch option. Set the PPA to TOT and both 530Ds will launch with a 2 seconds interval between launches. Edited June 12, 2016 by Zeus67 Correcting an error in coding. Davee Posted June 12, 2016 Posted June 12, 2016 Yes in the next update, but not simultaneously. AAM launch now works as follows: snip . . . . . 4. If you keep the trigger down after the missile has launched, the timer resets and starts counting down again for the next launch. Hi Zeus, Projected time for the countdown delay between launches? Thanks, Cats . . .
Zeus67 Posted June 12, 2016 Posted June 12, 2016 Hi Zeus, Projected time for the countdown delay between launches? Thanks, Cats . . . Sorry. I fixed that. My contacts told me that it was wrong. Only one missile is launched per trigger press. Multiple launch is available for 530Ds only when the system is in TOT. My bad. "Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better idiot-proof programs, and the Universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. I was starting to be afraid that I would have to add a "lift that damn finger off the the trigger" mental workload when shooting missiles :smartass:
