tom1502 Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 Hi, I've downloaded the Open Beta. I'm using the Oculus Rift and am very grateful that it is now up to the standard of 2.0 in the support for VR. However, there are a couple things that I think have been missed that need fixing before release. 1.) When you look at the switches the description comes up in a big grey box that will not go away. It is easier to read, but ruins the immersion. 2.) Could really do with a way of importing my control set up from the stable version to all of the others. 3.)If you are not using the mouse to control the cursor then you can not click the boxes to join or set up multiplayer games 4.) When not using the mouse in cockpit the cursor can show up twice due to the way it seems to be projected and the 3D nature of VR. So for example in the pilot seat of the Gazelle, if I look around the windscreen wiper then I get the cursor showing twice, which makes me feel like I am going cross eyed. It's a BIG improvement over the current stable release though and I look forward to being the stable version. Thanks, Tom Windows 10 Home - 64 Bit Intel Core i7-9770K 32GB DDR4 RAM Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080Ti Oculus Rift S
SkateZilla Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 1. You can Turn off Snapviews in the Options Menu 2. For most of the Aircraft you can Copy their input folders (/Saved Games/DCS/Config/Input/ to /Saved Games/DCS.OpenBeta/Config/Input). 3. Not Sure what you're saying. 4. Already Reported/Noted. tom1502 Posted June 24, 2016 Author Posted June 24, 2016 Thanks for that. Number 3: I was looking at the server list, using my head movements to move the cursor, and I couldn't click to join, exit or refresh the list. Although the cursor is showing it seems to be clicking outside of the game, on my desktop somewhere. Meaning I couldn't do anything. I found that I could just click the very top of the boxes on the top bored and it would work, any more than that though and I would lose the cursor. Hope that makes more sense. Whilst in game do left alt enter to take it to full screen, this will keep the cursor in game. intel i7 6700k overclocked to 4.6, 16GB DDR4 3200MHz, Asus z170 pro gaming motherboard, Asus strix 1080, Max flight stick(modded), MFG Crosswind pedals.

I'll give that a try, does it work in 2.0 as well? Thanks! Windows 10 Home - 64 Bit Intel Core i7-9770K 32GB DDR4 RAM Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080Ti Oculus Rift S
tom1502 Posted June 27, 2016 Author Posted June 27, 2016 Hi, I still can not get rid of the description box when I look at switches, it's causing FPS drops and obscuring stuff that I am trying to do. Where exactly do I turn this off? Thanks, Tom Windows 10 Home - 64 Bit Intel Core i7-9770K 32GB DDR4 RAM Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080Ti Oculus Rift S
NeilWillis Posted June 27, 2016 Posted June 27, 2016 How do i update to 1.5.4 ?? It is a Beta version that updates right now, so if you want 1.5.4 you need to have the Beta version installed. The release version of 1.5.4 is scheduled to be updated at the weekend, and once it is available, you should see an automatic update happen the first time you run DCS World. There is an app available to make it easy to install updates manually. Just do a search for the DCS Updater GUI, and follow the instructions.
