DarkCrow Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 (edited) Just thought some of you guys might think this was cool. I had to change out an 18' UHF antenna today due to lightning and the mount it was on was cooked, completely black. That thing must have been red hot after the strike. You can also see brown burn marks on the tower just below the mount. Edited June 24, 2016 by DarkCrow

DarkCrow Posted June 25, 2016 Author Posted June 25, 2016 Wow, I haven't thought lightning can be that powerfull and, damn I would be very nervous with that cloud above me(more than from the height lol). Believe me, I was listening closely for thunder. Every large truck in the distance sounded like it. No lightning though, just on and off heavy rains. The other day my foreman and I were working at the base of a 120' we just built and lightning struck a 1 1/2 away. I never saw my foreman move so fast. We both were in the truck quick. We checked an app "Sparks" in "Weather Bug" to see how close it was. This tower here:

I agree with every word. I don't even like climbing up onto my two-story roof, in good weather, so ten times as high, in the rain, I can't even think about. I am sure glad their are folks who can, and will, do it, though! ASUS ROG Maximus VIII Hero, i7-6700K, Noctua NH-D14 Cooler, Crucial 32GB DDR4 2133, Samsung 950 Pro NVMe 256GB, Samsung EVO 250GB & 500GB SSD, 2TB Caviar Black, Zotac GTX 1080 AMP!
