1.5.4 Beta - Altitude hold not working ?

Just needs to ask....

 

Does altitude hold work in 1.5.4 beta ?

 

With the autopilot turned on and going faster than 120, turning the AP switch ALT on does not do anything.

With the controls indicator visible, I don´t see "Altitude", while turning Speed mode on works (Indicating "Speed").

Try on a mission created on the Beta, not a mission from the stable please and tell us.

Description: Autopilot ALT mode does not engange. AP main, pitch, roll and yaw channels are on and AP engaged via pilot stick too. Speed>120 km/h. Switching on ALT mode does not work and no indication on the control indicator. Speed mode works as described in the manual

DCS Version: 1.5.4 Beta

Steam: N/A

Map: Caucasus

SP/MP: Single Player in mission created under 1.5.4 beta

Reproducible: Yes - I have not been able to turn on ALT mode in 1.5.4 beta

Step to Reproduce: Load sim with Take off from parking Ensure gyros are ON and Autopilot panel: AP main: On, Pith On, Roll On, Yaw On, Pilot stick Autopilot: On (check AP needles centered). Take off and accelerate above 120 km/h then turn AP mode to ALT. Nothing happens and no indication on control indicator (ctrl+Enter). Turn AP mode to SPEED, speed wil be held at 120 km/h and Control indicator indicates speed with white stick position.

I have noticed same thing also in 1.5.4 beta I figured since I was a Gazzelle noob I was doing it wrong

The issue is present in both the L and M version.

I can get Alt Hold to work... But it doesn't seem right.

 

In level flight, about 180 speed units, and then flick it on via my HOTAS. The collective remains in the previous position (fairly high for fast, level flight) and the helicopter will pitch up wildly without gaining any height and without altering the collective.

 

The helicopter will slow to about 140 and remain there in Alt Hold till the cows come home...

 

Don't understand how, given the same conditions, the autopilot manages to fly it a lot slower and stay in level flight..
