FCIProject Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 I would like to come back to LockOn, but I would like to know if there is a fully working Dynamic Campaign System (DCS)? I was an avid Falcon 4.0 flyer (the orginal F4.0) and loved the DCS. When LockOn first came out I was first in the queue to buy it. I love the graphics and FM, but there is nothing to 'do'. I do not like static missions or campaigns. Nor do the guys I fly with. We currently fly and have flown IL2, to death. We want to come back to a Fast Jet Sim. Any news on a DCS for LockOn?
Colt40Five Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 Still no DCS or plans for one as far as I know. You might want to check out "lockon mission randomizer" which basically allows you to design missions that never play out the same. Might be up at lockonfiles, and I think ruggbutt released a LMR mission pack not too long ago. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Ice Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 Fly online. You'll find that's full of surprises
weasel75 Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 A DCS is more than "just" some surprises (which LockOn normally lacks too - outside of the mission-parameters there is dead silence). In a DCS your mission-results influence the next missions, so you *matter* somehow in an ongoing war. Imagine to destroy 2 bridges in one mission, and some hours later one bridge is being rebuild by tech-units, while the 2nd bridge is still down and causing a logistic problem for the enemy. Maybe some convoy(s) stack up at the destroyed bridge or they get being re-routed ... however the outcome, you changed the (virtual) world. For me, this adds a lot of immersion, since the ongoing conflict is reflected in a constant (but consistent) change of frontline and damage & destruction (and repairs/re-conctruction) on the vital installations. DCS just feels more alive :) PS: Was there some (3rd party) dynamic campaign planned? basic for translators ...
