Bolt1 Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 I reinstalled DCS World (not the Beta or 2.0 ) and I noticed I'm back to having the problems with the Mirage FPS , it's running about 1-3 FPS on normal time and it's a horrible slide show , but if I slow the time down 1 speed , it actually doesn't stutter as bad which makes no sense to me at all , when I hit the escape key to bring up the menu , it's the same deal , I can move with TRACKIR with no stutters , go back into game at normal time speed , it goes to a slideshow . I have reinstalled game , repaired game , reinstalled Mirage Module 2x to no avail . So, is it DCS World it doesn't like ? do I need install the Beta and try that ? Thanks , Bolt
nomdeplume Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 Try turning the mirrors off, I've seen some people reporting huge FPS loss due to the mirrors in various modules. There's an option for it in the options menus, which seems the best way to go about disabling it. You can also use RShift+M (or maybe LShift+M?) to disable them in-game, though this doesn't seem quite as effective.
Bolt1 Posted July 4, 2016 Author Posted July 4, 2016 Figured it out , but it's weird . After all the fooling around with installing / reinstalling DCS and the Mirage Module and swearing at it all in the process  , I decided to back up the game on an external HD . I went in the DCS folder and hit the "Run" icon and started the game and VOILA ! no issue with the Mirage ! . So I'm thinking there's something weird going on with my C drive ..nope . I go back into DCS World folder on C drive and click on the "Run" icon and game starts up with no issues and I fly the Mirage with no issues . Now its either a corrupt DCS shortcut that was put on desktop or ..I have my DCS World folder in wrong file on C drive. the game is in my regular Program Files in C . I'm running Windows 7 Premium X64 btw .
Sarge55 Posted July 5, 2016 Posted July 5, 2016 I use to always install DCS in the root directory in it's own folder (or folders if also running the beta). I seem to recall this being recommended a few years ago. Recently (after a nice sale on SSD's) I have my flight sims on their own drive which has worked flawlessly. Might be something to look at. Glad you got it figured out. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] i7 10700K OC 5.1GHZ / 500GB SSD & 1TB M:2 & 4TB HDD / MSI Gaming MB / GTX 1080 / 32GB RAM / Win 10 / TrackIR 4 Pro / CH Pedals / TM Warthog
Bolt1 Posted July 5, 2016 Author Posted July 5, 2016 It was a pain , but I'm glad I found the issue , btw Sarge , did you build your own rig or buy like that ? cost ?
Sarge55 Posted July 6, 2016 Posted July 6, 2016 It's a custom build about three years old with a couple of newer bits, the 240 SSD (Flight Sims) and the GTX 980 (formerly GTX 680). Initial cost was about $2,000 CAD. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] i7 10700K OC 5.1GHZ / 500GB SSD & 1TB M:2 & 4TB HDD / MSI Gaming MB / GTX 1080 / 32GB RAM / Win 10 / TrackIR 4 Pro / CH Pedals / TM Warthog
