I have worked out the correct folder for me which is...Saved Games\DCS\Liveries\FA-18C_hornet\. The various RAAF livery folders go in there. I can get one of them to load up in the quick mission area and it looks terrific. I found a similar question on the Mudspike forum. Still have to work out how to pick individual skins.

Thanks again for creating these Hugh

Snowy, For your info : Generally in most skins folders with the files you will find a "description lua", in the Skins "description Lua" you will usually see at the very bottom the following lines of code:

name = "VMFA-122"

countries = {"USA",}

in the case of these lines it is naming the skin "VMFA-122" and that it is a US aircraft.

You can add to the countries line more than one country and select what country's you want to use the skin, for example:

countries = {countries "RUS","UKR","USA","TUR","UK","FRA","GER","AUSAF","CAN","SPN","NETH","BEL","NOR","DEN","ISR","GRG","INS","ABH",

"RSO","ITA","AUS","SUI","AUT","BLR","BGR","CZE","CHN","HRV","EGY","FIN","GRC","HUN","IND","IRN","IRQ","JPN","KAZ","PRK",

"PAK","POL","ROU","SAU","SRB","SVK","KOR","SWE","SYR","YEM","VNM","VEN","TUN","THA","SDN","PHL","MAR","MEX","MYS",

"LBY","JOR","IDN","HND","ETH","CHL","BRA","BHR","NZG","YUG","SUN","RSI","DZA","KWT","QAT","OMN","ARE","CUB","RSA"}

Also If you delete the countries line , then all countries should have access to the skin, Im not sure if this still works, play around with it and see.

To edit lua files I suggest you get the free "Notepad ++" program.

Also if a mission has incorporated the country of that particular aircraft you want you can select the individual skins for it in the "Re-Arm Re-Fuel" request via the hotkey or radio call. You will see a drop down menu in the bottom right hand side and can select the skin from there. Also whoever makes the missions will generally allocate the skins to aircraft.

Im not sure if that answered your question but I hope it helps.

Beautiful work. Well done. As an ex RAF exchange officer (a very long time ago on 12 Sqn RAAF Chinooks) I appreciate being able to fly in the Green and Gold.

Thank you Strut. I really appreciate that information. It helps a lot. I'll of course back up the files before changing them.

Hugh,

Mate you have done our Hornets a great justice with your skins.

I have just retired from the Air Force after 30 years and my last aircraft unit was 77SQN (2014-2016) which included a tour overseas as part of Op OKRA.

Are you planning to do any skins of the Hornets from Op OKRA, in particular the jets with the bomb counts on them?

Thanks Snowy.

Sorry for my late reply...still getting used to using the forums.

I noticed on another forum that you're a fan of the F-111.

I was on the back ramp of a Herc with the photographers that took all the great pics of the Pigs off the Gold Coast doing the dump and burn runs.

Every time they flew under us the whole Herc just shook.

Hi Browny

I am indeed a fan of the RAAF F-111s.

That experience must have been something mate.

Gday Hugh, anyword on the Op OKRA Skins ? Its a bonus to have skins of our Aussie warbirds that are seasoned combat aircraft, unlike some others lol. Looking forward to them.
