I am from Italy

i was hardcore simmer with Lock On and Flaming Cliff 3.

Now i had no time due to family (2 kids ... and let's pretend wife does not exist).

But still buy DCS product and desire to stay tuned up and self trained.

Well

My rig is always a middle/top powered, followed by an HOTAS X52Pro, Rudder and TrakIR.

When i setup the older version of Lock ON and Flaming Cliff no problems, i remember to clear all extra key in sim option and then use an advanced profiled (hard work) charged on SST Saitek software.

There was a unique key chart for all plane.

Now HELP HELP HELP... I tried to read manuals but nothing understud.

Please explane me how DCS world software works... directory, where save and what wil be saved under Windows "User".

- I ned to do a new stand alone profile for each planes, OK this is clear.

- Do i give up SST Saitek software and use main control DCS page?

- I want use SST software because i remeber setup also for track IR and so on team Speack.

- Where is default key binding in DCS in order to save a backup.

Thanks

Sergio

I would suggest to give that a try to start. DCS Joystick menu is fairly powerful and well done. One just has to be careful to make sure the column you are working on is highlighted for the appropriate controller.

I have typically used the TARGET software for creating profiles for my Warthog, and still do for other flight sims, but with DCS I decided to give the built in GUI menu a shot, and have been fairly pleased with it.

You can certainly do that as well if you prefer.

Default is stored in your Eagle Dynamics- DCS World-Config-Input-Aircraft folders.

Your customized bindings are stored in your Saved Games folder.

Hope this helps,

Thanks a lot dburne

let me ask another :)

if i edit only (per each plane) the columm of HOTAS/Rudder and then "save profile" DCS save only a .diff.lua regarding X52/Rudder keeping integrity of default Keyboards command in another .lua?

Or make a whole save of controls?

I am going to edit in DCS GUI control columm X52 and Rudder, leaving axis and clearing all the associated button , then work with SST Saitek software (at the moment familiar to me).

Correct, if you highlight the joystick and save, it will save a copy of your current joystick settings in a diff lua file, in your saved games folder. Same with a throttle, same with rudder pedals.

Default stays as previous mentioned in the DCS game config folder.

A nice feature of DCS GUI is the permanent modifier that can be used as "MODE".

Example, set ScrLk key (not used and has LED to monitor their status) as this permanent modifier, so when this key is pressed once (LED ON) the joystick buttons will send other key press combination.

This is not "shift" - that can be used too in GUI - what require press and hold the key/button.
