TAnker737 Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 (edited) Just wanted to show you guys. I've been playing a lot of Mi8 and MIG 21 and wanted to see if I could use my old, broken Saitek combat rudder for parts. I was always disappointed with the range of distance that these rudders had for the brake axis. To my surprise the pedals had a mechanism which was the perfect amount of distance for the paddle on the warthog stick. Also the paddle button still works and doesn't engage until after full brake. Cibit Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 Nice idea, cant make out how you attached it, can you elaborate please, I also have a dead set of saiteks;) Wonder if it could be used as a throttle control for collective, or even the basis of a collective:) i5 8600k@5.2Ghz, Asus Prime A Z370, 32Gb DDR4 3000, GTX1080 SC, Oculus Rift CV1, Modded TM Warthog Modded X52 Collective, Jetseat, W10 Pro 64 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Adding JTAC Guide //My Vid's//229th AHB
Sokol1_br Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 (edited) Not if you assign this axis for "Wheel brake Both". :) What fit well for Mig-21 and Mi-8 brake systems. Edited July 29, 2016 by Sokol1_br
TAnker737 Posted July 29, 2016 Author Posted July 29, 2016 (edited) I actually just cut and edged out the plastic using a drill and exacto knife and then cemented it around the paddle to make sure it doesn't come loose. Everything else was just screwed off of the brake paddle. I also cemented the piece on the side of the joystick just for reinforcement. I circled in the picture the places where I cut and glued the piece. And it does only actuate the right brake. For the planes I'm using right now that is all I need. For a collective I think these pot are too low resolution. I still have the board on the side so I could still put the other pot but it seems unnecessary to me, at least for now. The main thing I wanted was to use it for the MI-8, L-39 and the MIG-21. I'm surprised how good it seems to be working. I'm pretty happy with it.
