TheFace Posted August 8, 2016 Posted August 8, 2016 I am under the impression that the emergency jettison only gets rids of the stores on all pylons, not the actual pylons attached to the wings. I will need to test the emergency jettison to see if it jettisons both, but what I described definitely gets rid of everything in order to give you the least amount of drag possible. EDIT: I just tested the emergency jettison button - I was correct, it jettisons all the stores but not the pylons. If you do it how I described, then you get rid of everything and will be faster and more maneuverable. It's easy - in the "select jettison" area on the left vertical panel, you click the switch down to the "all pylons" and then click jettison. That's it, no need to select the various pylons. Easy peasy. Nice to know for sure. Drop tank jettison is sort of a pain otherwise. For some reason the center pylon won't release with the left and right inboard at the same time. Left and right inboard will release at the same time.

Thought it was a bit weird, redundant function, but it turns out it wasn't. :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Win10 64, Asus Maximus VIII Formula, i5 6600K, Geforce 980 GTX Ti, 32 GB Ram, Samsung EVO SSD.

Medic8ed Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 The pylons might not, but I first discovered this when using the MER for the Mk-82's. After dropping the bombs, that leaves the center pylon and the MER rack, which does affect performance to a certain extent (though emergency jettison gets rid of the MER rack but not the pylon). Plus, even if the pylons only minimally affect the performance, I would want every last ounce out of the machine since its T/W ratio is not as good as the Mig 21.
