  1. My vote would be yes sell separately. There isn't a ton of options for throttles, but there is a ton of good sticks out there. Lots of us have VKB or Virpil sticks, some use bases sticks like the force sensing FSSB and others have the force feedback Brunner. Your not going to sell a main stick to a bunch of those people. Throttle, though, everyhting else has a much shorter throw and yours is very unique in that regard.
  2. Without a separate purchasing option for the stick and throttle this will likely sell less than it could. Too many of us already have high end sticks we don't need to replace at this time. F18 grip, while cool, is a definite downgrade for me personally and I wouldn't use it. So until the throttle is available as a single unit no thanks.
  3. Is your device still working properly? Because IF so I am not seeing the issue. Your complaining they are iterating too fast? Virpil is, BTW, looking at an upgrade option for existing users. What that is hasn't been stated. 3 of my Virpil items are discontinued, the MT50 base, the first MT50CM grip and now the MT50 throttle. All of them still function WONDERFULLY. I feel no need to replace them anytime in the next several years. Hell I used a discontinued X55 throttle for quite a few years without issues outside of needing a powered usb slot.
  4. Wow lots of angry guys here in this thread. Basically having chatted with Cypher in the Hotas discord it's always going to be "feature A is missing I am mad" to some degree. The detent on my V2 work great, but I also don't really need them as I mostly fly WW2 stuff. The rest of the features they added came from intense feedback from multiple forums and discords. Simply whether the analog hat is on the index or thumb created a huge discussion, for example. What other company is trying this hard in this short of a timeframe? What other company readily talks with it's user base and takes feedback to change designs after it's released? Basically it's a waiting pattern for VKB or a modded Warthog to match the new MT50CM throttle. Aftermarket detents should be pretty easy to get soon for it anyway, even the X55/56 has aftermarket detents while most other throttle have detent mods on YouTube that are pretty easy to pull off. Making the unit mechanically sound while adding features the community asked for is going above and beyond. How long has TM sold the Hog with it's known flaws?
  5. I have a monitor underneath my main screen that is a touchscreen, will the touchscreen work with Helios?
  6. I believe the P38J-25 had the brakes too, which would have entered service at a similar time frame as the delivery of upgrades . The L model certainly did and that was introduced in June of 44.
  7. The P-38 is one of the most interesting & mis-understood aircraft of the war IMO. It's not better than a P51 D in really any situation, but that isn't the point of DCS in my mind anyway. Personally I would prefer to have it over the P-47. I would LOVE to have it included in DCS, as really the big 3 fighters for America in the ETO were the P-51, P-47 and the P-38 for the ETO. As far as army fighters goes it's the most important type in the PTO. P-38 L would fit in very well to the landscape in Normandy, though. Even if it is outmatched by other fighters in the ETO (mostly because of the dive rate vs the competition). It would be a great fighter-bomber addition. Dual engine prop for DCS? Sign me up, as more management is better for the DCS pilot IMO. I mean I would rather fly the P-51 than the German craft just because of the little bit of extra engine management it has. P-38 has a lot more stuff going on in the cockpit for sure.
  8. So this is possibly a solution as well. I am looking at this for when or if I move from a side-stick to a center stick setup.
  9. will the clipped wing also have the 50 cals instead of the 303?
  10. Used only for 3 months or so, lightly. Near perfect condition. $85 + shipping
  11. I would rather have the ability to swap out for the 20mm motor canon instead of the 30mm. It was a fairly common loadout.
  12. I guess my stance is that why would you not want the Mig if you have the Sabre? I plan on purchasing the opposing aircraft for each aircraft, regardless of how much I play it (if even at all). Why? You get to know the strengths and weaknesses of the aircraft you typically fly against. How valuable was a "captured" aircraft in WW2? Now I think it would be great to have some sort of "bundle" system that could help with this, maybe 10-20% off if you purchase both at the same time. Really from a sales standpoint there are multiple ways to do this.
  13. Nice to know for sure. Drop tank jettison is sort of a pain otherwise. For some reason the center pylon won't release with the left and right inboard at the same time. Left and right inboard will release at the same time.
  14. Can't wait to try out the "fixed" missile in today's update. Only sidewinder kills so far have been either caged or against targets flying straight under no gee load.
  15. There is a vertical lever on the left side of the gunsight to remove clutter. Don't remember the binding off-hand, but just search for "clutter" in the keybinds and you should find it.
  16. Maybe, maybe not. Did get a kill in a similar occasion in a match earlier that day, not sure if he was pulling 3g, though. Wish I wouldn't have had the drop ordinance switch on :). I did lose enough energy to get near stall toward the end of the chase up, and had I switched to guns I could have possibly landed a hit. I had a few deflection shot opportunities. I was trying to focus on missile deployment, though. Good fight all around. Still getting used to the systems, radar being one of them. Learned a good deal from that fight and the next one I think you killed me again :). Ended up getting a gun kill in the flight after after nearly getting a kill with sidewinders on possibly you again. The target was vigorously rolling and ended up pulling away.
  17. My setup is sidestick so using the mouse to manipulate the dash switches is tough in a turn. I tried a left hand trackball, it didn't work form me :(. So I was really focused on the dash trying to find out why the missile wasn't shooting since both wing mounts were armed and had growl. It was only my third mp flight with it, and I am used to props where you usually have a few seconds if you gain a little space out of gun range. If I remember right I think I also lost visual on him and thought he peeled off towards my buddy, and also he had fired at most of his missiles, I think I had him at 4 shots when in reality it was 3. So I thought I had enough breathing room to find out why the sidewinders weren't firing. I thought about just going guns, but I was really practicing with the sidewinders and wanted a sidewinder shot. Didn't realize that having the drop tank switch on would stop the missiles from firing
  18. Me too  I think I am going to setup a Roccat Power-grid profile on my tablet to handle the hardpoint / drop tank release to make it easier to deal with.
  19. Radar was on. Hehe I can tell you what happened there. I actually had good tone when he lost me around the EDIT:3:30 mark, missile didn't fire. I was mostly trying to figure out why on my dash. Drop tank release was on lol. He killed me at least 2 times in that match, maybe 3. Great piloting Hadwell  Have a ton to learn, but 3 or 4 gun kills and several missile kills later (and a bunch of deaths) it's getting a little more natural. I do run with radar on ready instead of open after that particular confrontation:doh: Edit: When I looped around behind him on the tacview footage at round 3:30 to 4:12 (when I lost my energy and had to dive and curse at the sidewinders not firing as everything was on and they were visible on the pylons) I had tone and several good chances for sidewinder shots.
  20. I am fairly new to jet combat, and completely new to 3rd gen. Coming from a primarily gun only prop sim background, I don't find the F5 to be lacking the ability to kill. @Hadwell killed me several times on ACG last night, that's not the Tiger's fault :). The sidewinders are hard to use, but the radar & RWR is key IMO to the Tiger's superior SA as well as a really good gun & gun sight system. Being that WW2 planes are what I fly, the Tiger feels like a huge upgrade to me. That it is primarily a gunfighter is a huge plus for me, too. One strategy I think works great is to go in with guns first, and if the Mig tries to out-climb you then line up for a good sidewinder shot as they usually go afterburner. Several kills that way yesterday. Gun kills are usually easier than I am used to as well. I haven't flown the Mig, but it doesn't seem to wildly outmatch the Tiger at all. Tiger has to go guns more, and doesn't have radar guided missiles. Its IR missiles are tough to use, yes, but rewarding when you get the kill.
  21. War Thunder sim mode is actually doing this pretty well. You can see the dot from a good distance, but IF you zoom in you can't until it's close range.
