Is it possible to spawn an aircraft in this state?

I believe there is a chance of it being like that when you place it as a static object. At least I know this is the case for the MiG-21, so you might give it a shot.

Hmmm, not that I know of. MAYBE you could put one in a slot with no fuel and start it and block it with a vehicle and when it runs dry it'll go into this mode in your pic. MAYBE NOT.

Doesn't seem to be the case, unfortunately. Thanks for the suggestion though

That's actually a fantastic idea. Let me give it a shot.

I've tried almost the same thing with a 'Play Argument' triggeraction (after finding the correct argument numbers in the model viewer), but unfortunately the action does nothing.

I think the only way to get this state are the external arguments/animations, but I know no way of setting/playing them - other than the mentioned trigger, which does not seem to work (or I am using it wrong).

Didn't seem to work. Good idea though. Thanks

Interesting - how exactly should this trigger be set up? I see it in the ME, and it does seem like the thing we're looking for - however you're right, it probably doesn't work. Oh well. I guess we can try what we can and if not, cross our fingers that ED will get it working one of these days. Thanks

AFAIK the trigger takes the id of the external argument and a value. Give it both and (like I understand it) it will do some magic... ;)

To get the argument id you can use the model viewer. For the A-10C, the small hatches and everything should be argument id 91. They open between values of 0.0 and 0.9. So a value of 0.9 is full open.

But as I said, I never got it to work - unfortunately.

And furthermore, there's no LUA function "behind" this trigger action that we may call directly from code. So I'm all out of ideas.

Is there a wishlist thread for a function/a working trigger action that allows us to manipulate external draw arguments? Think we would need one.
