Question about navigation real MIG

Work from time to time littel bit on a MIG 21 singelplayer Mission, for me was there upcoming question how can i not answer my self.

 

Mission is placed in 70's, at this time in wich way can the MIG intercept a friendly Aircraft?

Of course plane to plane radio communication and Radar guidance, but was it possible as example Tu-95 can set radio signal this can followed by MIG's ADF (Ark-9) radio compass, or was this only for ground based navigation?

GCI...an intercept officer guides you towards the target. The 21 we got does not have the Lazur datalink so you are dependant on the radio menu to find a target.
