Pretty much resembles the F-18 HUD. Also shows a good glide slope on approach. The speed was 232 km/h maybe?

Are the graphics really in black? Doesn't seem too clear.

I think the nose camera has it's own telemetry overlay and is not recording through the combiner glass like other western/modern plane

On sea, black is the easiest seen color after neon green.

This is one reason why many fishing buoy for fishnets or such are black, as you can even see them near black nights or against direct sun/reflective water, but it isn't clear what is the shape or so in dark, but it doesn't matter as you still spot it.

And in extreme low light situations, the last thing you want is a lot of bright visual elements in HUD to be between your view and the carrier lights as you anyways are landing as well by your visuals as much as with your values.

I highly doubt that has anything to do with the actual color of this HUD, though, because it's pretty hard to project and collimate black symbology. :) I think you're barking up the wrong tree.

It's probably just as flashben says.

Of course it is possible, just saying about the colors in the sea environment where after all the carriers are floating and on naval aircrafts are landing ;)
