TAW_Impalor Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 I'm new to VR, playing with Rift CV1. I noticed everything in my DCS is roughly half the size it should be! Mig-21 is supposed to be 4.7 meters high, but it looks hardly higher than virtual myself in the garage. The ejected pilot from P51 is a midget up to my waist. The floor level in the garage is correct - when I lower my HMD to a physical floor in my room, I see the virtual floor right at my face. What am I missing? Am I the only one with this problem? I am normal, 6 feet tall or 1.85 cm. Rift is calibrated correctly to this height... Using 1.5.4 non-beta. 12900KF@5.4, 32GB DDR4@4000cl14g1, 4090, M.2, W10 Pro, Warthog HOTAS, ButtKicker, Reverb G2/OpenXR
ED Team Glowing_Amraam Posted August 12, 2016 ED Team Posted August 12, 2016 I believe what you are experiencing here is something called "camera terrain restriction". It's there so the camera won't pass through the terrain. In other words, the "camera", or your viewpoint, will not go lower than whatever this restriction is set to. It's possible to turn this completely off though. Just go to *where you installed DCS \Config\View - then open "server.lua" file. Look for the line "CameraTerrainRestriction". Next to it is the word "true". Change this to "false" and save the file (using notepad or something). When in-game, the camera is free to go as low (and beyond) as you want. And in turn will most likely fix this "height" issue. ;) https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgJRhtnqA-67pKmQ3A2GsgA ED youtube channel https://www.facebook.com/glowingamraam My facebook page
TAW_Impalor Posted August 12, 2016 Author Posted August 12, 2016 Hi, thanks, but this is not it. I tried changing the parameter to false. The problem is not the height of the camera, but the scale of all objects! When I sit in Dora and peek at my physical shoulders via nose hole, they are wider than the plane's fuselage! I feel like flying some scale models of the real planes. ((( I don't feel big in other games or Oculus demos... 12900KF@5.4, 32GB DDR4@4000cl14g1, 4090, M.2, W10 Pro, Warthog HOTAS, ButtKicker, Reverb G2/OpenXR
