Wingman on takeoff

Hi all

Is there a bug when taking off with the wingman? I noticed that the wingman will sometimes taxi down the runway when I'm ready to take off then stop in front of me, I have to squeeze past him to take off. He doesn't do this all the time.

Is there a procedure I'm not following?

Is there a way to get the wingman to taxi and take off at the same time?

you're too slow revving up you're A10 and he is 'ahead' of you stopping at the runway for clearance

Could also be that you assigned yourself #2 of 2..?

And to have the wingman started at the same time is only possible (IIRC) if you put both planes "start from runway" in the ME. But I could be wrong there. When starting up cold from platform as #1, your wingman will wait until you begin to roll and follow you. If you taxi up the runway and prepare for t/o, he will wait at the holding.

Thanks for the quick response, I will check that I haven't assigned myself as no2 didn't realise I could do that? But I don't think I'm too slow, the wingman follows me out ok but sometimes follows me down the runway. When I have two wingmen, 2 will sometimes follows me down the runway but I can squeeze past him, when I take off he continues to taxi, but then 3 starts to taxi down the runway? This will always result in a crash

follows you down the runway = taxi?

are you using the right taxiways to the runway entry point?

are u at an airport with no entry at the downwind of the designated runway?

 

I sometimes take a 'shortcut' when I was fiddling too long with my setup and see the wingman waiting at the entry point, I'll just head for the next upwind entry point if there is one. Brake, full throttle, then let go to make up far the difference (or race into the runway :) )
