Kozmyk Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 In the approach and landing tutorial there is insufficient fuel to follow the landing instructions. There's enough to go straight to the landing but not enough for the break and go-around as directed by the training mission. escaner Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 I just re-did it. There is plenty of fuel (you start with 1,000 lb). The whole maneuver takes about 400 lb, but a couple of notes: 1. The mission starts in active pause, so engines use fuel while you read the instructions. Make sure they are not in afterburner! 2. It is a military traffic pattern, not a go around. Again, no need to use afterburners, your max speed in the approach is 300 knots. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Kozmyk Posted August 21, 2016 Author Posted August 21, 2016 OK. Bad choice of words "go-around" The instructions are to to follow quite a wide circuit pattern, wider than a normal overhead break. I just edited the .miz file, for myself, but for part of a tutorial it needs more fuel. escaner Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 I agree that the pattern is pretty wide, but as I said, the actual flight took me around 400 lb of fuel. Still 600 as spare. How much are you using? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Kozmyk Posted August 21, 2016 Author Posted August 21, 2016 I was running out at the end of the down wind leg. I dare say I could make it around by rushing the text but that's just the point. It's a training mission where one is meant to read the text. Like I said, I just added more fuel to give myself time. I think more fuel should be added for the mission before module release though.
