NEW 2 DCS ? Joystick .lua File Placement?

!Hello All, I'm not new to Sims but DCS is harder to master. I have a question about joystick profiles. I have these modules: CA, FC3, KA-50 2, UH1-HUEY and a SU 25T. I've downloaded a few missions and have installed them. In my C:\Users\MY_Name\Saved_Games\DCS folder. I've been able to play some of them.

 

However, my Logitech Extreame 3D Pro joystick for some of the aircraft has very little joystick controls inputted. I also have purached a TM Hotas Flight X that I intend to use for DCS, has not been delivered yet.

 

I downloaded a profile for the LE3DPro and one for the TMHF-X but the read me's for those profiles do not say just where or in what file to place these .lua files. Can someone PLEASE tell me EXACTLY just where in what folder to place them. Do I place them somewhere inside my C:\Users\my_name\SAVED_GAMES\DCS\Missions folder or somewhere inside my DCS folder inside my Steam DCS folder.

 

P.S, I'm using the Steam Version of DCS, so my DCS is in my Steam folder but that should not affect anything ,because the .MIZ mission files installed and worked ok.

downloaded profiles you need to 'import' the 'category'

so if you have someone else's joystick

 

<.>\Saved Games\DCS\Config\Input\A-10C\joystick\Joystick - HOTAS Warthog {B8AFA370-1A90-11e6-8001-444553540000}.diff.lua"

 

you cannot get this to work by mere copying,

you need to 'import' from within DCS control settings.

 

'import' simply opens the internal file browser, so the file can be put anywhere

I have another ?: If i don't have a A-10C module I guess I'd put the file in \Saved Games\DCS\Config\Input\KA-50\joystick\joystick- HOTAS Warthog?

And if I don't see the folder of folders, do I just make one?

input profile path in (1.5.4 latest) for a KA-50 joystick would be indeed be

<.>\Saved Games\DCS\Config\Input\ka-50\joystick

 

but like I said the internal DCS browser lets you pickup files from any location

(c:\ comes to mind)

 

In DCS go to controls setup, choose the module from the drop down, place the cursor in a 'category' box (e.g. 'joystick), hit 'load profile', browser comes up (slowly), find file, load, chk definitions (no 'red' blocks, and 'modifier' missing).

 

'modifiers' is a separate file, and needs the exact naming of the added/missing modifier

'axis' are loaded separately (i think i remember)
