Fishbed-21 Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 Hello pilots, I was training a bit with a friend in an online mission: 2x Mirage 2000C Enfield 1-1,1-2 1x Ai JTAC (HMMW TOW) Whiplash 1-1 (140.00MHz) And enemy BTR-80. Now I will explain what happens, only the wingleader (Enfield 1-1) can communicate successfully with the JTAC, the other doesn't have any answer by him. We checked the radio frequency, if the radio was in Manual mode and so on. Everything was ok. Then we changed role (I was 1-1). Same as before, only the leader can communicate with JTAC. My answer is: this is normal? This is related to the datalink switch in the JTAC's Enroute task? This is a bug? Thanks for any help provided! Pain is weakness leaving your body... nomdeplume Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 Datalink is for the A-10C datalink. Not relevant to other aircraft. Were your two clients in the same group, or in separate groups? Just thinking that the ability to have multiple players in the same group is fairly recent and maybe the JTAC script might not work properly with it.

I believe this is the issue, I had the same problem in a previous patch as I remember making a statement along the lines of, "What happens if the lead runs out of bombs? The JTAC will only ask for guns." We were also in M2Ks. It would be nice to see the code total the ordnance for the flight and allow anyone in the flight the ability to make calls. Just thinking that the ability to have multiple players in the same group is fairly recent and maybe the JTAC script might not work properly with it. That was my first thought as well. If that's true then the A-10Cs should have the same problem. It should still be possible to drop LGBs for the wingman, if flight lead takes care of the radio. Anyone know if wingmen talk to JTACs in RL or is this only been done by the flight lead? I've simply thought how a single JTAC can handle 2 aircrafts asking for targets at the same time. Then how the JTAC will provide priority to a client instead of another? That's working? I mean 2 clients in 2 differents groups? Pain is weakness leaving your body... If you make a Mission with a Group of planes like ship of 2 planes only the leader can talk externally to any friendly unit on the ground like JTAC If you make 2 planes in Mission editor as 2 groups of 1 planes each of them is a leader of their own group and can use JTAC This is how it is be it realistic or not or how it seams to be and you need to plan for this before you make your mission [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Youtube Reddit

I've made bad experiences with that in the past (conflicting taskings and radio messages, sometimes causing the JTAC to get stuck in the process). It's better to just let one player do the talking. The other player can still react on the JTACs taskings. or just give each player their own JTAC. My question is: It is possible to allow the wingman attacking a JTAC's designated target? (after the talk between wingleader and JTAC) Pain is weakness leaving your body... (after the talk between wingleader and JTAC) Yes, if the flight lead asks the JTAC to lase the target the wingmen should also be able to drop the bomb instead. At least i think it works.
