predattak Posted September 14, 2016 Posted September 14, 2016 (edited) I'm happy that we finally have the WG-21 and R4M rockets on our D9 but anyone knows how to use them?( manual is not helping ... ) What i mean by that is not how to arm them and fire but how to effectively aim with them in DCS at what ranges, speed(if required), angle and so on; even more how they were actually used by the Luftwaffe... wikipedia is ..well .. wikipedia, you never know what is actually true in there. If any of you have any info on this matter please share it.:helpsmilie: Edited September 14, 2016 by predattak
Chrinik Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 The R4M was an air-to-air rocket, keep that in mind. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] GCI: "Control to SEAD: Enemy SAM site 190 for 30, cleared to engage" Striker: "Copy, say Altitude?" GCI: "....Deck....it´s a SAM site..." Striker: "Oh...." Fighter: "Yeah, those pesky russian build, baloon based SAMs." -Red-Lyfe Best way to troll DCS community, make an F-16A, see how dedicated the fans really are
Art-J Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 Both weapons are early WIP, with some things to adjust or fix (apparently R4M were equipped with impact fuses only, were fired only in pairs or maybe even salvos etc.). I guess that, plus lack of WWII targets (with exception of B-17 mod) places them in temporary, curiosity-gimmick category for now and nobody bothers with spending too much time developing tactics for them when the way they work is probably going to change soon anyway. i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.
