Bufo Posted September 20, 2016 Posted September 20, 2016 The MiG-21 manual says: Take-off speed: 340-370 km/h IAS Touchdown speed: 260-270 km/h IAS Shouldn't it be the other way around? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Bogey Jammer Posted September 20, 2016 Posted September 20, 2016 No. Ouch. that hurts. There is how you should answer: No :flowers: Because the aircraft's weight is at max during take off, and much lower during landing after expended fuel and payload, thus reducing the lift needed and the speed which generates it for the operation. 1 I'll buy : МиГ-23МЛД & МЛА МиГ-27К МиГ-25 Mirage III F-4E any IJ plane 1950' Korea Dynamic campaign module

NoJoe Posted September 22, 2016 Posted September 22, 2016 The other reason might be that you fly the final approach at around 340 km/h, but the actual touchdown occurs at a slower speed (270 km/h or so), after bleeding off speed in the round out and flare.

Simon81 Posted September 26, 2016 Posted September 26, 2016 MD-11 still worse. :P It's because of these two round stuff under its wings. Mig doesn't have it and fly stable :P
