Planning my VR shopping list and when looking into using VR with Prepar3d, it seems everyone is using Flyinside.

That looks great on many Youtube videos, but I was also struck by how useful Leap Motion looked with Flyinside:

I seem to remember some poor reviews of it from maybe a year ago but this looks very different to what I'd read.

Does anyone use it with a Rift/Vive and DCS to control the cockpit? If so, what do you think of it?

Just my two cents:

Don't waste your money. It's getting better, but the dexterity and interfacing just isn't there yet. I've used it in FSX using FlyInsideFSX.

Often I found myself sans canopy as I was reaching for the gear handle or another switch as it picks up my hand moving across the pit.

Save yourself the frustration and the cash.

I second Markeebo here. I also tried the Leap Motion. Yes. It's a good addition in Prepar3d with FlyInside, but for DCS, it's not accurate enough yet. It needs integration. Yes you can flick switches, but you are never sure when it's getting flicked, and you usually end up with pressing the wrong buttons....

But with some integration, I believe that could be just as awesome in DCS as it is in Prepar3d with Flyinside today.

Question: with current version of Leap Motion, are you able to see representations of your hands inside the cockpit? Just seeing the hands would be very useful, even without integration for hitting toggles.

For instance, you could place a real-life gear level on your desk, in the approximate position of the virtual handle in the cockpit. Seeing your hands would be all you'd need to complete the illusion.
