Redglyph Posted September 24, 2016 Posted September 24, 2016 Hello, I've just been through the two first missions, and it's very enjoyable so far! :) I had a little problem with mission 2, I thought I'd mention that here, but maybe it could be moved to the DCS 1.5 bug sub-forum, I'm pretty sure it's a DCS problem more than a mission one. The two fast boats were dealt with, and the helicopters safely landed on the site. Then two of the four helicopters crashed right after taking off from the site. I didn't see why this occurred, first I thought it was an attack, but nothing more happened, and there was no message from the two other helicopters so I assumed it was a bug. After the mission, I checked the Tacview record, and indeed two of the helicopters collide in mid-air after take-off. No missile, nothing else. That didn't impact the mission, as far as I can tell. I don't know if that can be avoided, I suppose it's extremely hard to work around that kind of limitation. Apache600 Posted September 24, 2016 Posted September 24, 2016 known issue :/ I've tried fixing it, even in the recent patch (v1.02), but to no avail. Check this thread here for a little discussion on it. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=174511 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] The Museum Relic Campaign: --> http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=164322 Community Missions (SP & MP) --> https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=205546
Redglyph Posted September 24, 2016 Author Posted September 24, 2016 Don't worry, I suppose it'll disappear on its own next time the AI gets improved. In general it looks like the vehicles in general tend to collide easily. In both the taxi training missions of F-86 and Mig-15, the "follow-me" car does a U-turn and rams the aircraft :/ BTW, that Tornado in mission 3 hit me on my first tentative. It apparently appeared later when the Tu-22 was taking off, so I didn't see it. The ATC gave me the permission to take off and this guy just got behind me and pushed me aside! Literally. And he wasn't very far, so he could have easily waited or stopped. Both AI and ATC silliness plotting against the player, that's so unfair ;) System specs: Win7 x64 | CPU: i7-4770K | RAM: 16 GB | GPU: GTX 980 Ti 6 GB | Thrustmaster HOTAS | MFG rudder pedals | SATA3 SSD | TrackIR
Redglyph Posted October 13, 2016 Author Posted October 13, 2016 I ran the mission with the Mig-15, twice (don't ask), and it didn't happen anymore. Maybe I was lucky, or not lucky the very first time, or the AI has improved, a combination of all that, who knows. But the Mig can be tricky when taxiing, I lamentably ended stuck in the grass next to the taxiway because of my poor handling of this silly gear direction system, and failed the mission a few metres away from the parking spot. Fortunately those UH-60 guys didn't see it! :D System specs: Win7 x64 | CPU: i7-4770K | RAM: 16 GB | GPU: GTX 980 Ti 6 GB | Thrustmaster HOTAS | MFG rudder pedals | SATA3 SSD | TrackIR
scotth6 Posted March 11, 2017 Posted March 11, 2017 Hi, Great campaign. I really appreciate a good story behind good missions and campaigns. I like pretty much all types of missions, but this is really enjoyable. I just wanted to note that I have this exact same issue with the Museum Relic Sabre campaign - mission 2. I am using DCS World 1.5.6.1938 beta. As described by the OP, two of the choppers just seemingly burst into flames, a little bit apart from each other. Maybe they rolled on takeoff? Anyway the mission was still completed, but damn it, why did those guys have to die ;) . BTW I was so happy to land at Sochi and see my two favourite bombers right next to each other. The B-1B and TU-22. Awesome!
