GTX980ti or GTX 1070

Hello dear fellows

 

Im planning to buy a new graphic card GTX980TI or GTX1070 OC, but I dont know which one would fit better to my below mention components.

 

Windows 10 Pro

Asus Rampage IV

I7 4930K (4.2 Ghz)

DDR 32GB at 2400Mhz

GTX970

 

I really would appreciate a hint

Personally I would go for the 1070, see above thread.

I have the GTX 980Ti and it physically fits in a mid-tower case. I bought two, but run one now and it works fine.

As for the component mix, either would be fine, but the value in upgrading to the 1070 is greater, IMHO, due to more VRAM and lower power consumption. Unless you can get a really good deal on the 980ti.

 

Check the dimensions of your cabinet against the board specs. A 1070 should fit, but some cases are more accommodating than others. My Corsair HAF (don't recall the number) has a removable drive bay section that opens the space all the way to the front panel.

As cichlidfan stated above. The only compelling case for picking up a 980Ti over a 1070 is if it is significantly cheaper. I paid AUD $669 for my GTXX1070. I would have only remotely considered a 980Ti if it was under AUD $500.
