0xDEADBEEF Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 Hi Guys! I seem to have a couple of issues turning alignment process off for everyone on a server, whatever I try, there's always some people who say it works well, and some claim they have to align what ever I set. I also seem to fail at finding a clear complete guide on how the whole INS thing works. I understand the manual is yet to be made and I understand why it takes some time. The search only resulted in long threads where I could not find the info I was looking for :( So most pressing issue for me: - What kind of scope does the options in the special menu have. Is it only for the client himself and/or does it have an effect on the mission if it is set on the Mission builders computer? - What exactly does the "force alignment" option in Mission Editor do. Does it force the client to align it for 8 minutes, or does it force the client to be aligned on spawn? From the text it could be both ... Thanks! Beef
ZHeN Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 is this for Kaukasus offensive ? if yes, I'd be totally gratisfied, mate [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
kobeshow Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 Hey Deadbeef, As far as I can tell, it is completely client dependent. I don't know where to set the option in the mission editor, and when I tested it on 104th it depended only on what I had set in my options. You can see a image in that video, That's how you set it in the Mission Editor You go to the Right tabs when you Click on the Mirage and select far right tab [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Youtube Reddit

Beef Force Alignment overrides the aircraft's "INS always aligned" option, so you need to do a full alignment (4 to 8 minutes) on mission start. 0xDEADBEEF Posted September 30, 2016 Author Posted September 30, 2016 You can see a image in that video, That's how you set it in the Mission Editor You go to the Right tabs when you Click on the Mirage and select far right tab I cannot see an image of the ME in the video, only the options in special tab... I am also not a huge fan of watching multi-minute videos to (not) find an information that would fit into one line of text, because it requires me to sit patiently and watch the video, until the information I'm looking for appears. I am really bad at things like these, please dont take it as an offense ;) Force Alignment overrides the aircraft's "INS always aligned" option, so you need to do a full alignment (4 to 8 minutes) on mission start. Thank you very much Zeus! That's what i was looking for. So in short: Client checks: "does not require alignment" in special menu, and I do nothing in mission editor/make sure that checkbox is off.
Rlaxoxo Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 I cannot see an image of the ME in the video, only the options in special tab... It's Literally an image displayed for 3 seconds after you click on the video [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Youtube Reddit
0xDEADBEEF Posted September 30, 2016 Author Posted September 30, 2016 ah gotcha! I thought you were refering to my question, but it was to kobeshow about him not know where to find it. Mucho confusion. All questions answered, thnx!
Frederf Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 You can't force "easy mode" for clients. They have to choose that option for themselves. All you can do is per-airplane force them to use the normal system (force alignment) if they choose "easy mode" client side.
ZHeN Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 so we're obviously having a bug here: I've turned on "INS doesn't require alignment" in the options and DEADBEEF checked that all the Mirages at the server don't have "Force INS alignment" turned on. And my INS is still not aligned during cold start. I even tried turning off Gyro Drift, but still no go. Is that ok ? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

ZHeN Posted October 6, 2016 Posted October 6, 2016 (edited) Zeus67, yesterday I've managed to check this myself. I found out the bug was just the indication. Having "INS doesn't require alignment" gives you fully aligned INS with correct 00 position, you can easily enter new waypoints and navigate precisely to them. But yellow N.DEG light is always ON! No green PRET at all. That's the case. Still indication needs fixing :) N.DEG freaks me out :) besides, some servers really FORCE INS ALIGNMENT, not mentioning this. If I just switch to NAV there (relying on my "INS doesn't require alignment" option), ignoring N.DEG light and fly to the waypoints, INS will definitely guide me to the wrong place ... how should I know my INS is not aligned if the indication is the same ?
