You don't need Helios just to display the MFDs on a 2nd screen, but if you want working OSB buttons around them, and for the other instruments, the Helios is the way to go.

Thank you for your quick response. Is helios a user friendly program? Are there any tutorials for it?. I' m coming from the world of prepared 3d and am new to dcs.

thanks Lee

There are some tutorials on YouTube. I would call it semi-user-friendly. The documentation is a bit sparse.

IMHO, the best way to learn Helios is to start with an existing profile and reverse engineer it to learn how certain things work. It is quite powerful, once you get the hang of it.

Btw, for this forum, I consider three hours to be a slow response. ;)

Hi thanks for the response. One question. Can I place the ultra mfcd on the premade instrument panel made through helios since the premade a-10c profile instrument panel does not have working mfcds without jumping thru insane code manipulation.

thx Lee

UMFCD is nice, but it does nothing for the analog instruments.

Helios is relativity straight forward for the analog stuff, MFCD's is where the nightmare begins.

Never found the monitor lua to be a nightmare. It is rather straightforward.

Is it possible to combine the umfcd program with the profile being used in helios. I ask because I successfully got the a-10c profile on second monitor but the instructions to get the mfcds into the profile are very complicated. Any suggestions?

Thx Lee

I have the a-10c Loz SM V2.1 on 2nd monitor and fundtioning fine but with two blank spaces where the mfcds belong. I read dereks beginners tutorial to get as far as I did but reading further about the steps to export the mfcds was very confusing with changing lines of code etc.

Is there an easier way?

thx Lee

Hi

I found the easy solution to getting both mfcds over to the second monitor to work with the helios profile

Use a program called dcs virtual cockpit server. It's amazingly simple. Just drag mfcds onto the second monitor with the helios profile and resize in place and save. It works beautifully.

The company is called bit-smith.

Now the question is , does helios work with dcs v2.
