tflash Posted October 7, 2006 Posted October 7, 2006 Enjoying the excellent FSX demo, I wonder if we do not need in BS (I'm just dreaming): - A flyable AN-26 Being able to fly sheer transport missions in the multithreat BS environment must be very challenging and rewarding. It would give on-line play also an extra dimension. Above all, the An-26 would add turboprop experience and it is a magificent aircraft. No need for advanced avionics. - Lead-in trainer aircraft Some simple aircraft with AFM that can be used as a good lead-in trainer, prop or jet whatever, with basic avionics and gentle handling. - Civilian flights The world is not all "friend or foe". Civilian flights would add to the challenge of ROE. A jetliner or a little Beechcraft would be tremendous fun. With a flyable beechcraft we could fly covert missions in BS also. - Rogue forces OK, I admit Georgia vs. Russia scenario's do have a reality touch (hopefully not), but more likely are engagements between KA-50 and an array of rogue forces, driving technicals rather than BTR-90's. Does anyone feel the same? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Solidburn Posted October 7, 2006 Posted October 7, 2006 I like the civilian a/c idea. I'm not sure if Any combat sim has included that. Would Definately add realism not to mention clear incentive to identify freindy/enemy a/c BEFORE you shoot them down "I know Not that which you have said, but if I had medication I would (Robin Williams)" [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
airea Posted October 7, 2006 Posted October 7, 2006 Once a time, I came with very similar ideas for lockon... However, I guess lockon is not a suitable platform for such improvements...
Weta43 Posted October 8, 2006 Posted October 8, 2006 Yes, a civilian coalition has been asked for many times - not just aircraft, but vehicles, vessels & structures. It would, as you said, make for more interesting ROE & 'goals' in mission building. Cheers.
Guest IguanaKing Posted October 8, 2006 Posted October 8, 2006 Well, the civilian vehicles are already there...if they added the aircraft and sea vessels though (there are civilian ships, but they all seem to always be in port) that would really make things interesting. Of course, then we'd need good modelling of SSR operations and COMs. It would be an insurmountable task if the region in the game were in the US, but its not...it would be much easier to deal with when about the only air traffic is commercial or military (no Cessnas, Pipers, and Mooneys every square mile or so like it is here in the US :D)
