Sierra99 Posted October 27, 2016 Posted October 27, 2016 Good morning, I was wondering if once "The Merge" takes place owners of Nevada will be able to install it on a seperate machine as a server without having to purchase 2 copies. Vitormouraa Posted October 27, 2016 Posted October 27, 2016 (edited) You mean, using the same account on different computers? you can already do that. Edited October 27, 2016 by Vitormouraa SplashOneGaming Discord https://splashonegaming.com
ED Team NineLine Posted October 27, 2016 ED Team Posted October 27, 2016 He is talking for using on a server and then using the same key on a different computer and flyinf on that server, in that case, I havent heard any change in how that will work. When the dedicated server shows up, I dont know if something will change there. Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**
Sierra99 Posted October 27, 2016 Author Posted October 27, 2016 So in theory if you want to run a server you're gonna need a copy of all the maps you wanna fly on? ED Team NineLine Posted October 27, 2016 ED Team Posted October 27, 2016 Currently yes, as I understand it right now. Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**
NeilWillis Posted October 28, 2016 Posted October 28, 2016 Indeed, that appears to be the case. I raised the question of allowing dedicated servers to run maps without a license when NTTR arrived, but we ended up purchasing one for our server. I suspect that is a major treason why there are so few NTTR servers out there at present. It may get very expensive when we start to see a lot more DLC maps. It would be extremely useful to either have a cut-down version of DCS World which bypasses licenses for maps, which will host sessions but can't be used to enter cockpits, or a method of getting free copies of licenses on proof of their use only on a bona-fide publicly accessible server perhaps?
