Dropping tanks

Hi all,

 

I am the king of dumb questions it seems, here's my latest:

 

Went through the F-5E manual presented by Belsimtek, and also the Chuck's guide on the F-5, and can find no mention on HOW to drop the tanks. I understand how to manage my fuel, set up to use my tanks, all that, but what I cannot seem to figure out is how to get emtpy tanks to leave the aircraft!!??! Muy frustrado.....

 

Can someone please walk my dumb ass through dropping the tanks, both CL and pylon please? Or better yet, point to to the specific location in a manual so that I may read it for myself and possibly learn it for myself?

1. Fuel pumps of the desired Tank off

2. Selective Jettison On

3. Select pylon and drop

4. Selective Jettison Off

You Jettison tanks the same way you Jettison anything else.

 

You Select the Pylon or pylons in question,

Turn on Selective Jettison and then click the Jettison button.

 

Or if you are only carrying Air-Air weapons you could use the Emergency jettison button (that will jettison everything put your Air-Air missiles).

Damn, you guys are fast lol.....I stepped out to get coffee and hit refresh on habit. Thanks a bazillion for the push. I knew how to jettison everything, did not know how to do individual pylons or CL tanks. Thank you both for your responses!!

 

Question: to jettison once toggles are set up - Is it the "weapon release"? If so do I need to turn my "stores" selector knob to anything for dropping of tanks or stores?

 

Is there a manual other than Belsimtek's that you would recommend I look in for this info?
