damien13n Posted November 15, 2016 Posted November 15, 2016 (edited) Hello all. New to dcs world. Looks promising, but incompatibility with my home sim cockpit devices is a deal breaker. Triple head seems to integrate fine. I found the link to dcs flightpanels for saitek panels - thank you arturdcs! I see some are experimenting with capturing and converting gps data to nmea output for my gps. Crossing my fingers that one should come soon. Unable to find any info about using project magenta displays and 3d party instrument software. Also can't find anything about displaying dcs instruments on extended monitors. Any sim pit builders have more tips or tricks for integrating dcs to third party hardware and software? We all would love to hear about your success and developments. My sim pit : core i7 oc 4g; 8g ram; 2 dedicated ssd for win and flight sim, 1.5tb hard drive; graphics 570 GeForce, triplehead2go digital, and 4650 ati; 5.1 surround sound; saitek radio panel, saitek multi panel, saitek autopilot panel, 7" tablet gps, 2x saitek yoke throttle and pedals, 2@ 19" led flatpanel instrument displays, 3@ 23" led flat panel forward windshield displays, 11" tablet pc running efis and fmc; eclipse keyboard; installed fsx p3d and dcs My goal: 100% compatible and sync all sim components with dcs Edited November 15, 2016 by damien13n Damien13N
Einherjer Posted November 15, 2016 Posted November 15, 2016 Dcs and home cockpits Take a look in the home cockpit section in this forum, there are many 1to1 pits of the A-10 or Huey The problem is not that DCS doesn't work with project magenda or the seitek devices The problem is, PM and the seitek things are made for FSX and the simconnet interface only, so they are no generic devices and tools. Also take a look at Helios for exporting instruments and you also can export ingame screens without third party software. DCS brings all export features by its own, so no expensive hardware or software needed Oh and Look for DCS Bios for matrix input or export to led drivers and 7segment displays Greets

JG14_Smil Posted November 15, 2016 Posted November 15, 2016 For third party hardware, look into Helios for integration. Your software gauges can come from here also.
BravoYankee4 Posted November 15, 2016 Posted November 15, 2016 I will just second that DCS Bios is a great piece of software for interfacing hardware like LED’s, switches, potentiometers, rotarys, , servos and perhaps also steppers in the future. It uses an Arduino as interface and is pretty simple to set up. Unfortunately only a few modules are supported today. For instruments you also have HawgTouch/Icarus that I can recommend (doing more or less what Helios is doing).
damien13n Posted November 16, 2016 Author Posted November 16, 2016 Thanks for all the tips. Will check out helios and dcs bios. Didn't see a cockpit forum but will check again. Damien13N
JG14_Smil Posted November 17, 2016 Posted November 17, 2016 Read Post #3. That is the link to it. Good luck on your pit build.
