drcarnage52 Posted November 16, 2016 Posted November 16, 2016 Hey guys, I've been trying to get this setup (pictures attached) to work but I'm having trouble assigning controls to the switches. I can manually assign the axis although they aren't automatically detected when I move them using the normal method of assigning an axis. The buttons on the stick work normally though. However, none of the switches on the main panel are detected and therefore cannot be assigned. I believe everything is plugged into a box behind the panel (picture attached), which then goes into the computer. Any ideas? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Not really - I have a Hotas at home and am used to setting up 2 way switches, the problem here is that I can't assign any switches in the first place. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
JG14_Smil Posted November 17, 2016 Posted November 17, 2016 (edited) Does the Windows game controllers show buttons? They will turn red if they are working and you push the button. Have you defined the buttons as analog buttons in your setup of the hardware? If they are defined to send a keystroke, they may not show up as an analog button. Check your hardware documentation to see if this can be done. Best of luck with your cool rig! Edited November 17, 2016 by JG14_Smil

paulwest84 Posted November 18, 2016 Posted November 18, 2016 im following this thread with interest as I want to build a couple of button boxes for my setup
JG14_Smil Posted November 18, 2016 Posted November 18, 2016 (edited) I helped a friend with one of these a few years ago and I believe he went through the same thing. Here is a pic of what to look for in Game Controllers. It appears the buttons are setup as analogs by default. If a button turns red here, but not in Helios, I would delete the Interface for it in Helios (you just use the delete key), then re-add it. I've looked for documentation but not seen any yet. drcarnage52 Posted November 18, 2016 Author Posted November 18, 2016 None of the buttons give any response on that page - also I'm not familiar with Helios. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Deezle Posted November 18, 2016 Posted November 18, 2016 None of the buttons give any response on that page Then the problem is with your hardware. Intel 9600K@4.7GHz, Asus Z390, 64GB DDR4, EVGA RTX 3070, Custom Water Cooling, 970 EVO 1TB NVMe 34" UltraWide 3440x1440 Curved Monitor, 21" Touch Screen MFD monitor, TIR5 My Pit Build, Moza AB9 FFB w/WH Grip, TMWH Throttle, MFG Crosswinds W/Combat Pedals/Damper, Custom A-10C panels, Custom Helo Collective, SimShaker with Transducer
JG14_Smil Posted November 19, 2016 Posted November 19, 2016 Get your multi meter out and start tracing. Understood on Helios - we'll cross that bridge later. I'll have a look at any troubleshooting info I can find as I sip my coffee...
JG14_Smil Posted November 19, 2016 Posted November 19, 2016 (edited) Link for BUO836A I posted this link so we all have it handy. Which specific card do you have? Check to see what Windows says in hardware about it. Check another USB port. Make sure you diodes are in correctly if you use them on your switches. See what the configuration.exe software does.
