Trees Shadows

Is there any way to turn off shadows of trees without affecting shadows inside cockpit? Find them to be rather unnatural and unsightly. Ground terrain would look better without them I think.

No there are no ingame settings for that.

There was a mod made by Mustang which switches them off. But this mod doesnt work anymore. No idea why.

That mod dose work i use it all the time, it gives you better FPS and a smother ride when flying over wooded areas

C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Mods\terrains\CaucasusBase\Structures\High\E DM

Make a copy of this folder first just in case

Having said this it only turns off the shadows to the large wooded areas not all trees!!

It's always been that way.

 

The mod does work with vanilla textures, but it does NOT work with some other texture packs.

The Tree shadow option is back again, but it's not working at the moment. But DCS DOES have an option to disable the shadows...

 

I'm still waiting for the 1.5 update, in the 2.0 it is working.

Yes, Wags has stated that they will implement an option in the game to turn off all shadows besides the cockpit's. Not quite turning tree shadows off only, but a good step forward for performance nontheless.
