I've had 2 very hard landings since the last patch- well more than that, but 2 that I lived and was at an airfield to repair. Both times the tail section broke off. After repairs are complete, the tail section is back and looking good, but when I take off she is almost completely uncontrolable and acts as if there is no tail rudder. It seems like the repair command is not working, even though visually it appears too.

To me, the damn bird wanted to dive all the time. And yes, I broke the tail section right before that repairing session. Tried fixing things with trim...just got worse so I turned off all trim. Tried turning off the autopilot (that vertical thing I guess, the default "light" autopilot) and that sort of helped but there I was without autopilot. Aaaaand then the bird wanted to nose down again, like too much. Got tedious, I rage quit! ;)

All this on regular Caucasus map.

Robin, if You also say that Your recent Mi-8 with guns preview vid was done without autopilot, I'll call BS & witchcraft on that statement :D. You handled the chopper so smoothly in that mission it was pleasure to watch.

I cannot imagine flying this beast on my unmodded Warthog without constant trimming (AlexandrT in his glorious preview vids trims the crap out of the chopper too), and I absolutely cannot fathom flying without AP roll&pitch channel (in real one it's considered to be a MEL system and is supposed to be on and operational all the time).

Now, whether it's better to engage AI flight engineer to adjust AP or not, is another question altogether, because he sometimes does some strange compensation adjustments indeed.

Art-J, I use roll&pitch autopilot pretty much always. But in the latest vid, my damn autopilot got shot!

So I like using the roll&pitch autopilot, makes the Mi-8 a smooth ride. But without any autopilot whatsoever...things get dicey and I start sweating ;)
